dead quiet here. not even a loud rush from upstairs, which has hosted a party for every other post-season game except this one.

I might be upset about this (having lived in Colorado and grown fond of it) if a) I cared at all about baseball or other sports, and b) I hadn't last week read an article about how the Rockies had gone all Xtian, and were hoping that such would lead them to victory. (Yeah, because the point of religion is to get your god to win games for you.) I must say, it's kinda lovely to see them proved wrong. So...Woohoo!

How ... Friday Night Lightsish. You don't happen to know if that article's online, do you?

It first came to my attention via Slate (http://www.slate.com/id/2176547/), which linked to this 2006 article on the Rockies (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/nl/rockies/2006-05-30-rockies-cover_x.htm). (There's also a NYT article link, but I don't subscribe to the NYT.)

(BTW: I just realized that I did use a poor choice of words in my post, figure I should clarify something, just in case it's been misconstrued. When I said "gone all Xtian", I didn't mean to imply that all the players were now Christian, the Rockies would not hire someone from another religion. I meant that in the slangy sense that you'd say that a person had "gone all ____".)

Alas! Ouai! Eheu!

Could there be fault in my crass celebration?
Reveling in the joys of Red Sox Nation?

Oh woe, oh woe, oh woe!

How can I live with this mark on my conscience,
cheering and laughing in this morose instance?

Accursed malevolence!

Though unforgivable I must admit that
I must support the hell that my team begat

O tempora O mores!

Honestly, I don't expect you to absolve;
Hopefully one day your malice will dissolve...

Good times! Good times!

Tragically,
Hyoun
